To garner an insight into daily life in the company, we’ve decided to get to have a quick chat with Donna – National Workforce Manager about life at Diplomatik.

Here’s what she had to say:

What is it about Diplomatik and the position that attracted you?
What attracted me the most was the ability to sit with clients, large and small to work through issues which keep them up at night and be able to offer a wealth of solutions.  To genuinely partner with a client with the main priority to walk side by side to solution workforce issues whether that be a lack of skilled personnel, governance & compliance management, automated time sheeting or rostering of employees gives me a great sense of achievement that we have the right products for the market.

To lead a team of workforce professionals across Australia who share this passion, makes for a very happy workplace!

What does an average day look like in your role?
What I love the most is that I don’t really have an ‘average’ day – From working with clients to talk through and solution their needs, to working with agency suppliers looking to make more placements my days are pretty varied and can change at the drop of a hat!

What were you doing before you made it to Diplomatik?
I have spent the last 20+ years working in recruitment across the UK and Australia.  I have also spent 2 years in Apprenticeships / Training and so believe I have an all rounded approach to Workforce, Recruitment, Training and HR which supports our clients.

How would you describe Diplomatik’s work culture?
Diplomatik are the work culture you always say you want, are told elsewhere you will get, but never seems to materialise. We are a true team who supports one another. We are non-micromanaging, adaptive, brave and innovative. We empower our people to achieve and we share our successes and challenges together.

It is the type of culture where we actually enjoy coming into work each day, having a laugh with each other (and at each other most times!) and supporting each other through the good times and the bad.

If you could summarise Diplomatik’s core offering, what would it sound like?
We offer People + Technology to provide businesses with solutions to managing their workforces whether they are looking to add more people to their business, or to gain control over their existing workforces.  We can provide transparency showing businesses their entire workforce no matter how they are engaged, plus automate standard processes including payroll, ordering new staff and timesheets.

Where is Diplomatik right now, and where do you see it in 24 months time?
Diplomatik is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our clients and so the sky is the limit.  Being a business that is agile, means that we can adapt and amend our services

What goal or aspiration do you have for the next year?
Professionally to see Diplomatik expand across the nation further and to add to our already growing list of clients providing a wealth of solutions, and to support our suppliers to enable more placements across the whole of Australia.

Personally, I would love to go and see the F1 live in Melbourne or Singapore!

What is it that you feel you bring to Diplomatik and its clients?
I believe that I genuinely offer a passion for helping clients and suppliers to get the right outcomes and have an enthusiasm for making sure that we do a job well done.  Half measure doesn’t exist in my vocabulary and so I will solution everything to the best of my ability and having a solid team around me, helps me deliver the promises I aim to keep.

What is your favourite thing/s outside work?
I am an avid F1 fan (and thankfully so are the family!) and I do enjoy spending time at the theatre – Shakespeare plays are a particular passion.

After moving from the UK close to 9 years ago now, I do love the outdoors as there is so much to do here in WA with beautiful beaches, great food and practically all year-round good weather.  We do love hosting BBQ’s, socialising with friends & family and sampling some of WA’s finest wines.

Are there any more company updates you can share?
There is much to watch out for in 2020 and beyond for Diplomatik so watch this space!
